This was a silk screen printing assignment, all we had to do was followed the steps of screen printing and organised a map of the places in Subang Jaya area. Jared, Sally and I was distributed in one group, and our topic was ‘Bubble milk tea shops in SS15’.

First, we collected all the flier, receipt and others from the shop for the background of the map. Later, we moved on to the steps for making them. All of us made our own made ourselves, so we had three maps in total.

And these are the steps:

  1. Mix up the photo emulsion and sensitiser then pour on the silkscreen printing frame.

  2. Blow-dry the silkscreen printing frame.

  3. Film positive with design which is pressed next to screen in a vacuum and exposed with strong lights.

  4. Wash down the emulsion and make the design area clean.

  5. Squeeze and spread the ink using squeegee through the exposed print area of the screen.

  6. Allow ink to pass through to garment.

  7. Repeat step 3-6 for the second layer.

  8. The screen printing is completed.
