WEEK 13: GUEST SPEAKER SHARING SESSION - FOUNDER of DESIGN THINKER

From this lecture, I learned that Ms. Chong Yong Yee is a senior professor. She has gone through the career of design to share her past experience with us. When we learnt about design, we should investigate and analyze the target consumer groups, understand what they need, and design specifically to meet customer needs.

We need to make an in-depth observation and communicate with customers as much as possible so that we can understand their needs because each person’s needs are different. We then have to do a survey and experiment with the users to improve the product before we can produce the most suitable for them. Also, when thinking of ideas, as many as possible, no matter what is logical, then only cut out the unnecessary at the end, because the more ideas are important to the process.

Therefore, in my future practice, I will constantly ask myself why this design is necessary, and only when I find the goal, I will face the problem and find a solution, so that I can complete the work more efficiently.

I am very grateful for this sharing, which has benefited me a lot. I hope that next time I will have a deeper understanding of what methods we can use to solve the problem, so that the entire design can be completed in a short time.
