Part 1: Finding letter forms

Today’s lesson was to find the things that look like alphabet around us. My course mate and I walked around the college area and looked for them. Later, we had to draw on our sketchbook as the typo brief. I found out that it’s amazing and fascinating to seek for the items. And after all, I sketched out all the alphabet that I saw.

2. Translating a Subject Matter into a letter form

Then, we had to look for the different item that was cool and amusing in the school area. I had found the tube/pipe on the floor as my object. Afterwards, we translated it into a letter form, even alphabets or numbers. As my object was a tube, I designed my font in the shape of tubes.

3. Clay letter form

Last but not least, we had to use the clay and make the alphabet or number that we create. I felt like back to kindergarten, because the teacher used to teach us how to play with it. So, I made a ‘10’ for the letter form.
