1. Commercial Design
Commercial design is a design process carried out by an architect or a building designer with expertise in the infrastructure of buildings that are made specifically for businesses while observing the rules and legislation outlined by the building code.
2. Responsible Design
It allows designers and design teams to create products, services, and systems that do no harm and improve human situations. It extends to all people and other living things that are in any way involved in the product, service, and/or system lifecycle.
3. Experimental Design
One of the main goals of a designed experiment is to partition the effects of the sources of variability into distinct components in order to examine specific questions of interest. The objective of designed experiments is to improve the precision of the results in order to examine the research hypotheses.
4. Discursive Design
Discursive design expands the boundaries of how we can use design/how objects are, in effect, good for thinking. It sparks new ways of thinking, and it is only through new thinking that our sociocultural futures can change.
Q: What do we think of a graphic design?
My group mates and I agreed with "design is about solving problems" , "it’s not about making something look cool, it has to do more”, that they mentioned in the article based on their thoughts. Also, design is a naturally iterative process; it takes practice, progress, and then encountered with failures only be succeed at the end. So even though anyone can have access to the tools of design these days, not just anyone can be a great designer. In other words, what makes a good designer is the experience gained and validation from the field, peers, and revenue. Good design needs to be critical of itself, of its surroundings, of society and of the future. As the conclusion, a well-qualified designer mean he/she has the ability to created something meaningful and also bring out messages. So, we have to project, think, experiment, and prototype the future.
